Off To A Good Start

June 10, 2009 By: Lisa4 Comments

(Sorry!  I think that is the worst picture I've taken.  Someone ran off with my camera.  Again, you sometimes have to use your imagination.)I did so dang good on my diet Mon. and I had to share what we had for dinner.  For one it was delicious, and secondly it was the first meal of the year out of my garden.  It got rave review from everyone in the family except for Jake.  He ended up eating the leftover lemon pasta from a previous post.  Poor ... ...continue reading

Try These Babies!

June 8, 2009 By: Lisa2 Comments

It official.  I'm starting a diet today!!  My scale told me I had a fat butt today so I am going with Jillian Michaels and hopefully I'll look like her in 30 days.  At least that's what she said!  So as a fairwell to my lovely sugar addiction I thought I'd post about the fabulous treat my visiting teacher taught at an Enrichment Night last summer.  Most recipes you've seen them in one form or another somewhere, but not this one.  It reminds me of ... ...continue reading

The One Eyed 80 Year Old

June 8, 2009 By: Lisa1 Comment

Yesterday was a lovely day for us.  We had a baby blessing in Ogden for my brother's new son Andrew.  The meeting was good, I got to sit with James actually, and of course the food was delish after.  The funny thing was my granny.  I have more funny stories to tell about her than anyone else in the whole world combined (actually Hollie comes in at a close second).  While we were eating lunch grams asked if her eye was leaking.  Grams had cateract ... ...continue reading

Undie Man

June 6, 2009 By: Lisa6 Comments

This is my very creative child.  All he wanted last Christmas was a roll of Duct tape and some popsicle sticks.  You should see the things he comes up with.  Well the latest is a pair of Batman undies, and a mailing label.  I thought it was quite ingenious!  Watch out Iron Man..........here comes Undie Man! ... ...continue reading

I Am On A Roll

June 4, 2009 By: Lisa4 Comments

Just a quickie here.  You know me though.....I start on something and sometimes I just can't stop.  It would be the roasted veggies again.  This time in a pasta.    Yummy, yummy!  Tonight's dinner was Lemon Roasted Veggie Chicken Pasta.  Do you think I could come up with a better name?  I'll work on that one.  Here's the recipe though.  It is really easy and tastes light and summery.  Let me know if you try it.  I'd love to hear your ... ...continue reading

A New Favorite

June 1, 2009 By: Lisa3 Comments

Of all the meals in the world I think I like breakfast food most.  Not so much cereal (except for those new super little frosted mini wheats--they're lovely!) but all other breakfast foods.  When James and I are on vacation my favorite meal is the Sunday Brunch that we always seem to pay way to much for, but it is so worth it.  We have had some amazing breakfasts, and some quite memorable ones too.  Last Oct. James and I and 3 of the jogging gals ... ...continue reading

It Is Done

May 27, 2009 By: Lisa8 Comments

I just walked in the door with my hair all tied up in a knot, mud caked on the bottom of my feet and in my fingernails, and I am one happy little girl!  It is done!  The garden is planted.  I am feeling like it was done in the correct time frame too.  Some years it has been the end of June before everything is in, but not this year.  I am on top of it.   I've got beans, corn, zinnias, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, lettuce, parsnips, ... ...continue reading

Camping Isn’t Camping Without These Babies

May 22, 2009 By: Lisa2 Comments

Tonight is the annual Father's and Son's outing for our family, and might I add it is one of Emma's favorite days of the year too.  I think it rates up there with Christmas and the 4th of July for her.  The boys rough it in the great outdoors, and Emma and I rough it buying new shoes, dinner, and a movie usually.  Just one of the perks of being the only daughter!  So for the Father's and Son's outing the only request that I received was Homemade ... ...continue reading

Eat Your Heart Out January!

May 22, 2009 By: Lisa2 Comments

I hate January.  Every year at this time as I'm taking photos of all the lovely lovelies that are in bloom, and crisp, and green,  I think to myself that I am really going to miss all these colors come January.  Don't get me wrong.  January has a...........beautiful bleakness about it, but it could never compare to May!!  My mom and dad have been in Hawaii for the last 16 days, and you know, Avon in May is right up there with the Big Island!  I'd ... ...continue reading

The First For the Last

May 19, 2009 By: Lisa4 Comments

What do you do when your last child loses his first tooth?  Of course you blog about it:)  Congratulations Stinky Pete!! (You should have smelled this kid this morning.)  He was awesome about loosing his tooth.  Just eating a hamburger and he asked James if his tooth was loose, and wha-la!  It was out!  My baby is growing up.  There's always got to be a last child I'm told, but still that doesn't make me thrilled.  I don't miss diapers, or all ... ...continue reading
