OREO’S

rp_IMG_3869.jpg

The other day as I was making plans for the annual Clawson family camp out I asked for suggestions for camp treats.  You know every family has their favorites.  There has to be homemade marshmallows, tinfoil dinners, eclairs on a stick, but James' must have suggestion was homemade Oreo's.  Funny thing is, I didn't even know he loved these little tidbits until a few years after we were married.  I made them once while we were dating to take on a ... ...continue reading

Blueberry Lime Tiramisu

rp_IMG_3103.jpg

I actually taught this at a Macey's class a week or so ago, and I have to admit I had never made it before the actual class.  This is nothing new.  I frequently try out brand new things at my Macey's classes, and surprisingly they've all turned out real well.  I loved this dessert!  I had to do a bit of improvisation to make the recipe, seeing that Macey's didn't carry all of the ingredients I needed. The resulting adaptation was lovely.  I don't ... ...continue reading

Fresh Grilled Corn and Chipolte Chowdah

rp_IMG_3846.jpg

When I was in 1st. grade each child was assigned a week to tell the class a little about themselves.  We were to cut out pictures from magazines or from home that represented who we were and all the things we liked to do.  It was then stapled to a bulletin board where the whole class could look at it for the week.  I remember going through tons of my mom's Good Housekeeping magazines in search of pictures of soup.  I loved soup more than any ... ...continue reading

Paradise Farmer’s Market

rp_IMG_3080.jpg

Since there are only 12 people who live in Paradise, how on earth do we have a farmer's market do you ask?  Well actually Paradise is a thriving metropolis compared to the "306 friendly people" in Avon.  This spring the town decided to start a farmer's market, and has offered all sorts of gardening classes free for the community.  There is even a community garden if you live on the SW side of town. (That means the 4th Ward.)  Today was the 2nd ... ...continue reading
