Way To Go Eric!

rp_IMG_1853.JPG

This morning I got a call from my youngest brother Eric at about 8:30 to tell me his fun news. Yesterday he had a great post on his blog Eric Outside.  He recalled an experience he had with his favorite dog Lady,  (She's his only dog so of course she's his favorite!) and the food he feeds her for the hunting season.  Eric is an avid, I mean extremely avid outdoorsman.  I think his real name should have been Gaston!  He loves to bird hunt so much ... ...continue reading

Wicked Good

rp_DSC00944.JPG

I have some "Wicked" good stuff to share this weekend.  I had the best early weekend with my favorite daughter, mom, and sister.  Now I only have one of each of these gals, so therefor I can make the statement that they are truly my favorites!!  My mom recently celebrated her 29th birthday again,  (actually she is 61, and beautiful as can be.) and Hollie suggested we make a mother daughter night of it and go see Wicked.  I have heard all about ... ...continue reading

The Namesake

Yesterday as I was getting ready to post my Lasagne post, James thought it would be a fun idea to blog about why our blog is called Clawson Live. About 4 1/2 years ago the Food Network had a cooking contest called "Cooking With Your Kids" that I thought would be fun to enter. All you had to do was submit an application along with a small essay about cooking with your kids and then a 5 minute video of your family cooking together. In my mind it ... ...continue reading

The March 2009 challenge is hosted by Mary of Beans and Caviar, Melinda of Melbourne Larder and Enza of Io Da Grande. They have chosen Lasagne of Emilia-Romagna from The Splendid Table by Lynne Rossetto Kasper as the challenge. This is my 4th Daring Baker attempt and it turned out delish!! I think everyone in the Clawson household would concur with that statement. It was a perfect Sunday dinner to have on such a glorious, extra, extra snowy ... ...continue reading

A Toast to Sunday!

rp_IMG_1523.JPG

Sunday evenings at my home are quite a luxury.  Church is finally over, (did I just really say that), everyone is in their favorite comfy lounge gear, and fun movies are being played on the telly.  If we are lucky everyone is getting along, and there is maybe a son or two or three who are mock fighting with their light sabors, or making car sounds through the basement.  Sunday also means Sunday dinner, and it is usually really lovely.  Yesterday ... ...continue reading

Thoughts On Skiing

rp_IMG_1482.JPG

I do have a recipe to go along with this post.  I've decided every memory happy or sad in my life comes along with a food.  Now I hope no one is disappointed that it will not be the recipe for Spam sandwiches, but that will be mentioned later in  my thoughts.  Sat. we had a spectacular day skiing with the gang.  Our family (James, Lisa, Jed, Emma, Jake and Seth) Grandpa Garner (Rod), Uncle Eric, and Josh's family (Josh, Lizzy, and Tyler). ... ...continue reading

We Love, Love, Love Potstickers (and hurt shoulders)

rp_IMG_1376.JPG

We had quite an eventful weekend. James was actually out of town for the Priest's High Adventure Activity so it was just me and the kids. Jed didn't have school on Fri. since it was the end of the Trimester and his school had a few busses taking students up to Snowbasin for the day skiing. Talk about an excited 13 year old. Jed had numerous friends going, and had packed the perfect lunch for the outing. (His favorite Pilgrim sandwich, hold ... ...continue reading

Noodles and Traditions

rp_IMG_1361.JPG

We had the best Sunday dinner ever today. The whole family has been dreaming about it all week ever since the thought of making it went into effect. Now Chicken Noodle Soup may not sound very fantastic and amazing, but in my book it is. This is tradition folks! I love that word. Whenever it is said I can see my dad doing his Tevia impression, and belting out that song from Fiddler On the Roof. It is his all time favorite movie. In his minds ... ...continue reading
