So breakfast is an absolute favorite at our house. Every Christmas morning at the Garner home we had these little pillows of love for breakfast. They are Ebelskiver. It was one of those wonderful holiday traditions from Denmark that my dad brought back from his mission. Last night James was inspired to make these little babies with a bit of a twist. (OK we were watching the Foodnetwork way to late, and we were drooling over these ... ...continue reading
Anyone for Cioppino?
So are you wondering what Cioppino is? Well it is a seafood stew that is marvelous. At least I think so. Last week James and I went on a date to Hamilton's in Logan. I always get the same thing, but this time I thought I would try the Cioppino. I have seen it made on the FoodNetwork more than once and Giada made it on her show over Christmas. It looks lovely. At dinner that night I made so many yummy sounds. It was the best thing I had ... ...continue reading
The Day is Here!
I never thought the day would come when everyone in our little family would be able to ski. It seems like I was always pregnant, nursing, or a kid or two was too little to enjoy the sport. Now we are all season pass holders to Beaver Mountain. We had the best day on New Years Eve. Jake and Seth had a rough start, but after a few tears, even these two are die hard ski bumbs. Uncle Eric joined us for the day and we had tons of fun. This day ... ...continue reading
I am a Daring Baker
This month's challenge is brought to us by the adventurous Hilda from Saffron and Blueberry and Marion from Il en Faut Peu Pour Etre Heureus. They have chosen a French Yule Log by Flore from Florilege Gourmand. I had to write that beginning stuff so I would be counted in the new secret society I have joined. I have joined a new blogging group called The Daring Bakers. It is full of secret combinations, and blood oaths. I promise to not ... ...continue reading
Merry Christmas
I love Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Once the bakery is closed and James is finally home life is wonderful. My mom and dad and Eric came up for dinner on Christmas Eve and we had a great time. Good food, and good company make for a good night. Christmas morning was great. We got a new puppy. (We now have 3 dogs, and 2 kitties) I know this is crazy, but Lucy and Gus (our old dogs) are training Polly (the new puppy) well. It snowed all ... ...continue reading
Magical Night
Last night was magical. It snowed about a foot at our house yesterday, and it took a long time for the snowplow to come around. At our house it is pretty peaceful anyway, but on a cold snowy night we are the only humans in existence I think. James and I had to run into the bakery and I took a few pictures of the paradise Christmas scenes. When the star on the old barn in Paradise comes on you know that the Christmas season is here. It is a ... ...continue reading
It’s almost here!!
Today is the last day of school, and Seth got to wear his pj's to school. Talk about happy kids. It is an absolute blizzard outside, and I am going to make caramel apples and Christmas cookies today. The bakery is buzzing, but I won't go in today. I'm going to try this blogging out. You should see the gingerbread babies we made for our Christmas tree. Some in their underpants, swimsuits, and one of the girls is wearing her thong. The ... ...continue reading
