Scones

May 31, 2010 By: Lisa3 Comments

Scones are sooo good!!  So dang good!!  Some of you may be wondering where the fried golden pillows of goodness are.  These are not that kind of a scone.  These are English Tea Scones to be exact.  I think you're suppose to eat them topped with clotted cream and lemon curd, and serve them with your afternoon tea.  I don't drink tea.  I"ll admit I tasted it once on accident and it was downright nasty.  And I don't think clotted cream sounds very ... ...continue reading

Shortcake

May 26, 2010 By: Lisa3 Comments

I will tell you a little secret.  Strawberry Shortcake is divine.   I love to eat it, and smell it, and look at it.  Especially if it has a huge billowy puff of fresh cream on top.  Lovely!  There is a deep, deep, dark family secret in this family I have married in to.  The Clawson's lick their plates after they eat.  The ritual is only performed after Strawberry Shortcake has been consumed though.  Shocking wouldn't you say.Sunday I had a big, ... ...continue reading

Pooh Cookies

May 23, 2010 By: Lisa1 Comment

I think these cookies may be one of my favorite things.  I have a cousin that as a kid I absolutely adored.  I still love her!  She was 5 years older than me, but she still played with me and my sister and her two little sisters every day in the summer when we were kids.  We would canoe in my grandpa's pond, ride bikes on the "Roller Coaster", take long walks to the Love Bridge where we would write the name of the boys we loved,   climb every ... ...continue reading

May In Paradise

May 23, 2010 By: Lisa1 Comment

Gorgeous!  Isn't it beautiful?  This is a picture of how life in Paradise is.  In May, may I add.   Like the real Paradise.  Not just a beautiful place or a state of being, but Paradise, Utah.  OK, so it's actually Avon, but if we're going to be technical........Avon is North of Eden and South of Paradise.   That's even better than Paradise wouldn't you say? ... ...continue reading

Joshy Bake

May 12, 2010 By: Lisa1 Comment

I've decided that I was meant to live in the early hours of the morning.  It's actually a great time of the day.  You feel like you own the day.  No one else is awake, and the sunrise is just for you.  I believe a sunrise in Paradise is as good as any sunset in Hawaii.  I love the early morning!  As a kid I would wake up at 4:45am just so I could lay on the heater for 15 mins. before I had to practice the piano.  Later years brought cheerleading ... ...continue reading

My Comfort Food

May 11, 2010 By: Lisa6 Comments

This is the meal that I associate with home.  My mom made tons of good food.  Every night to be exact.  She is a good mother.  The house was always spotless, and the food was plentiful, and delicious.  I'm going to grow up to be like her one day.  I just keep wondering when that day will come.  I'm sure many of you have had this meal.  At our home it was called Scooble Scauble.  Doesn't that just sound delish!  I'm not sure those two words ... ...continue reading

Happy Mother’s Day Sugar Cookies

May 7, 2010 By: Lisa5 Comments

Here's a post that I wrote over a year ago, but the topic I felt was very relevant.  Sugar cookies!  I had to post this recipe again because they are down right delicious and secondly because we have made the cutest sugar cookies at the bakery the last few days.  Since I was the froster extraordinaire on the bakery goodies I figured anyone could replicate my style and design.  Ok, there is no style or design, just a yellow frosted flower sugar ... ...continue reading

Italian Wedding Soup

May 4, 2010 By: Lisa4 Comments

I have this youngest brother who is taking his very last college final of his life right now.  Do you remember that moment?  I sure do.  It was the best day of my life.  It was a beautiful June day, I was 9 months +5 days pregnant with my first child and I came skipping out of the testing center doing those little heel click jumps.  You know the ones-- where you jump up and click your heels out to the side kind of like a hee haw cowboy.  No one ... ...continue reading

Chicken Ceasar Salad Sandwiches

May 3, 2010 By: Lisa3 Comments

I love Caesar Salad!  Do you?  I have an obsession with this tasty treat.  Everywhere I go I search it out and I have a few personal favorites.  I love the Baby Cesar Salad at The Elements restaurant in Logan.  It is delicious.  You have to use a fork and a knife, but heck it is wonderful.  Maybe it's the addition of a few little cherry tomatoes.  It doesn't matter what time of year it is, those tomatoes always taste like they are from a Sept. ... ...continue reading

Would You Have An Appendectomy For This?

April 30, 2010 By: Lisa2 Comments

Sunday night we got word that a friend of Emma's had had an emergency appendectomy that morning.  He had spent the previous day playing two baseball games, slept over at a friends and by 9am the next morning was under the knife getting his swollen and enlarged appendix out.  We saw the pictures.  I told his mom to scrapbook those pics.  That is something this kid could be proud of.  In the course of a bishops visit in the hospital we came to find ... ...continue reading
