Ain't they cute. My son is with the girl in the purple dress. Strapping young man!My oldest son is 16. He's driving. He's dating. He's handsome, and wonderful, and he loves being this age. I remember 16. We'll the poor kid has a June birthday so he missed every dance his sophomore year of high school. Fish My Favorite Way
A few years ago my Jimmy and I were on vacation with my sister and her husband in Kauai. It was such a fun vacation, and probably the vacation with the best food I've ever eaten. We probably spent more on food on that vacation than any other trip, but it was sooooo worth it. The very first night of the trip we ate dinner at a lovely little joint called Duke's and I had the best fish on the planet. Maybe it was the fact that we were eating ... ...continue reading
Pizza!
Who doesn't love pizza? OK so technically Seth doesn't love it. He used to love it, but he was violently sick one night, and it just isn't ever something you love again. You know how it goes. Me and Garlic Cheddar bread will never really be friends. Oh well! Life will go on. Sorry about the image here. I had great intentions of fabulous pizza so just forget everything I just said about me and Seth. We all love pizza. This summer we have ... ...continue reading
Pad Thai
So here it is. The last day of May and I have no inclination in the world to do my visiting teaching. None! Zip! Nada! Don't I have a good excuse? Dang it................I look like Humpty Dumpty, and I am not going to be relieved of that anytime soon. Actually, I'm putting my positive affirmations to work here today. I will have a baby soon. But I'm still not going visiting teaching. I'll tell my ladies I love them on May 32, 2011. ... ...continue reading
Pot Roast Loveliness
This is my roast after browning and right before it headed into the oven. There is a main topic of conversation that has a tendency to pop up during 5 am running sessions. We seem to like to talk about what we eat. A lot! Especially on Monday mornings. We've all had a lovely weekend and I usually ask what everyone had for Sunday dinner. Is this strange? I always ask what people eat. My dad calls and I ask what he had for lunch. My grandma ... ...continue reading
Rumbi Rice Bowl Knock Off
I love Rumbi Island Grill. We just got one in Logan.......actually last year, but I think it's dang tasty. My kids think it's dang tasty and I figured it can't be that bad for you. I love their salads too, and I especially like their Bahama Mama Tortilla Soup. It's a lot like my favorite Thai soup ... ...continue reading

Visions of IKEA Dancing Through My Head
Happy IKEA visitors! We love IKEA at the Clawson household. It's just one of those fun places that the whole fam damily likes to visit any chance we get. We usually make it our yearly "Beginning of Summer!" tradition each June as soon as the kids get out of school. My brother Josh first introduced us to IKEA years ago when they lived in the Seattle area. Since then we've hit every one we come across. Maybe it's the maze you walk through to ... ...continue reading
Yeah!
Yeah we've moved on to a new month! I am not a negative person, and I love all the seasons, but I always get a little thrill when Jan. is over. Just last General Conference there was a talk that struck me. It was a talk by Elder M. Russell Ballard where he talked about the beauty of fall and then the "cold austere beauty" of winter. His talked made me think of a favorite song I have at Christmas time. It's called, "In The Bleak Midwinter". ... ...continue reading
