A New Way With Tomatoes

September 10, 2009 By: Lisa5 Comments

Look what I have.  There are a ton of tomatoes this year.  I'm canning them today, and tomorrow, and the next day........Did you know that you spell tomato without an E?  I didn't until a customer told me I spelled Tomatoe Herb bread wrong on the chalk board that took me hours.  How rude.  I think we should change the way you spell tomatoe, potatoe, and fourty.  Those are the three words I just can't seem to get right.  On to the new way with ... ...continue reading

Happy Sounds

August 24, 2009 By: Lisa5 Comments

Tis the season to stand at the kitchen sink for hours on end, with a really sappy Jane Austin movie, and can everything in sight.   (It is best to have the 5 hour copy of Pride and Prejudice to keep you occupied for the day.) I love hovering around those colorful little quart jars as they come out of the hot water bath.  I wait anxiously for the happy little popping sound.  That pop means all my work is not in vain.  The jar is sealed and can now ... ...continue reading

Nava Joe Tacos And A Little Juicy Tidbit

August 15, 2009 By: Lisa6 Comments

I know they're Navajo tacos, but again it is one of those foods that I say phonetically.  Sorry if that bugs you.  I love Nava Joe tacos.  I think they are one of the favorite foods that my mom made when I was a little girl.  Before I was born my mom worked at the Indian School in Brigham City teaching 6th grade.  I believe the students gave her the recipe and taught her how to make them.  Mom if I'm wrong chime in please:)  So growing up we had ... ...continue reading

Off To A Good Start

June 10, 2009 By: Lisa4 Comments

(Sorry!  I think that is the worst picture I've taken.  Someone ran off with my camera.  Again, you sometimes have to use your imagination.)I did so dang good on my diet Mon. and I had to share what we had for dinner.  For one it was delicious, and secondly it was the first meal of the year out of my garden.  It got rave review from everyone in the family except for Jake.  He ended up eating the leftover lemon pasta from a previous post.  Poor ... ...continue reading
