Where have you been all my life? I just purchased the most amazing new kitchen gadget today. It has made my life complete. I want to send a huge Thank You!! to my friend Margaret. She’s the one who told me I needed one of these little babies if I wanted some good Kettle Corn. She was right. I’m going to trust this gal. She even told me she’s going to show me how to make homemade doughnuts too. Thanks again Margaret. I am the happiest girl around right now as I snack on my perfect Kettle Corn that took me all of 4 minutes to make!
The kitchen gadget that has made this dream come true is the Whirley Pop. If there is anyone out there that I know and love that already knew about this gadget, then shame on you for not sharing. I’ve been missing out. According to the little booklet that came with it, the Whirley Pop has been around since the pioneers. Obviously I was neglected as a child. All we had was the air popper. I bought this lovely little tool at my local Kitchen Kneads store. It is the Logan version of Williams-Sonoma. Don’t let that fool you though. It has everything plus a few extras that any big fancy kitchen store would have. It’s my favorite place to hang out. Funny thing, I ran into a man who lives down the street there today, and Kitchen Kneads is his favorite too. Who would have thunk.
I immediately came home and put the Whirley Pop to the test. It wasn’t like I had $700 worth of groceries to pack for girls camp on Mon. morning. I figured I could spare 4 minutes, and then of course the time it takes to blog. Oh heck! Now it’s going to take me longer to pack, but at least I had some lovely Cinnamon Crunch Kettle Corn. It was worth it I promise. The recipe is simple. Right out of the pamphlet. I figured that the Whirley Pop cost me the equivalent of 4 big bags of Kettle Corn at the fair, but now I can make it anytime I want. Absolutely brilliant!! If your in the market for a new kitchen gadget, and who isn’t, you must purchase one of these. You’ll be smiling.
Cinnamon Crunch Kettle Corn
1/4 c. pop corn kernels
1/4 c. oil
1/4 c. sugar
Place the ingredients in the Whirley Pop and place over medium high heat on your stove. Start stirring until the popcorn starts to pop. Continue stirring until the popping stops. Immediately pull off the stove and poor in 1 T. of sugar mixed with 1 t. cinnamon. Hurry and stir again until the cinnamon has coated all the kernels. Pour into a bowl and enjoy. You’ll be in popcorn heaven in 4 minutes flat!

Do you know that I have found two of those at D.I.? It’s true, and I only paid two dollars for each. One was still new in the box. Just two dollars! Someone is crazy for donating them, but we lucked out. They do make good popcorn. Now I’m craving popcorn…Fred is too.
